This was me only 5 years ago.

My period was irregular, heavy and extremely painful.

Every month my skin would breakout and I would have a meltdown the week before my period. Every month I was certain that this time I was really going to leave my boyfriend.

Then my period would come, and I would feel like myself again.

The sound of my boyfriend breathing didn’t make me want to scream anymore. Until the next month, when I repeated it all over again.

And again. And again ( I think you get it). 

Everyone told me this was just normal and part of being a woman. Basically my options were to keep feeling insane or go back on the pill.

But for me, that just wasn’t good enough.

And since you are reading this, I’m guessing you feel the same.  

So, I began learning about hormones and the menstrual cycle.

I spent 5 years working with naturopaths, nutritionists, fertility teachers, acupuncturists and ayurveda practitioners to understand how hormones and our cycle works.

I read over 30 books on the menstrual cycle and here is what I learnt.

Women are not small men.

We are not supposed to feel the same everyday.

We move through 4 phases and they all have different needs and effects on our energy, mood, appetite, digestion, productivity and sex drive.   

I learned that focusing on my sleep, diet, toxins in my products and reducing my stress are the first steps to balancing our hormones.

But the biggest change I made was how I connect with myself and my body.

I no longer felt frustrated or cursed for having a menstrual cycle. I now trusted my body and understood her deeply.

Now, my periods are pain free, regular and my mood is stable all month long (no more meltdowns or breakups).

I have a new found love for my body and myself. 

So I decided to teach other women how in a 12 week program, Sacred Cycles.
